COACH DEVELOPMENT

​​​​​​​We encourage and support our coaches with a range of coach development opportunities at Auckland Netball, from Junior Netball, right through to the Representative Level. We work with Netball NZ and Netball Northern to provide courses and resources which enable coaches to develop, whether it’s to support your child’s team or your own personal interest in netball. COMMUNITY COACH AWARD 1

Information

The Community Coach Award Level 1 (CCA1) has been designed by Netball New Zealand to provide coaches with the necessary skills to provide quality coaching up to and including the U15 age group.

The CCA1 modules will help coaches to gain confidence in the technical aspects of coaching, coach in a Player-Centred approach, focus on skill development, and nurture a love of netball in their playing group.

To gain your NNZ Community Coach Award Level 1 you must complete all the required modules and you will be guided through the process of how to do this by the Auckland Netball team. 

The full CCA1 qualification, a nationally recognised qualification for netball coaches, can be completed by attending all of the CCA1 modules.

COMMUNITY COACH AWARD 2

Information

Community Coach Award Level 2 caters for the coach who wishes to gain more in-depth knowledge to support their coaching at the CCA 1 level. Attaining CCA Level 2 is also one of the pre-requisites for the Performance Coach Qualification (PCQ).

Level 2 Modules focus on the tactical aspects of the game and there are also formal observations of coaching practice required at this level.

JUNIOR NETBALL COACHING WORKSHOPS

Information

If you coach a team from Year 1 through to Year 8 and would like more information, tips and guidance for coaching your team this season please come along to one of our Junior Coach Workshops.

Sessions cover game format, coaching skills, communication and feedback, roles on game night, and extras depending on the age group you are working with.

Community Coach Resource

Looking for ideas for your first few coaching sessions? Check out Netball New Zealand's Community Coach Starter Resource via the link below. 

This resource provides coaches with 12 session plans for use at team practices. Each session plan introduces players to a different skill and tactical aspect.

Good Sports

Year 9&10 Resource

The aim of the Netball New Zealand’s Year 9 & 10 Season Starter Resourceis to provide a foundation to be used within secondary schools and at Centre level to enhance participation, skill level and development. The target time for schools and centres to implement this resource is priorto trials or at the beginning of the season once teams are first named.
